The very first question I often get about camping safaris is "Is that really feasible" or "Won't we just freeze?". Well, it sure ain't for the faint of heart in the winter time but come summer I actually think it's one of the best ways to get to know the country and truly get the best photographs. We can often stay very close to locations and there fore eliminating transfer time giving us more time to shoot. 

Weather wise it can be quite nice to tent it out as I say, and it gives us the ultimate flexibility to chase the best light since were not bound to pre-booked accommodation.

I'll provide each participant his own tent and mattress so all you have to bring is your sleeping bag. Most campsites provide good facilities such as showers and cooking areas. It's often very practical to mix camping with other accommodation and I often just do that "on the fly" to keep the flexibility at a maximum.

My modified Land Rover Defender is fitted with a powerful inverter to keep batteries juiced up but bringing extras on trip like this is always a good idea.

Expeditions like these often last from 4-9 days and can cost from 2500 USD - 5000 USD per person. Included in that is transport in the Nissan Patrol, camping fees, food for entire trip and cabin if we opt for that choice
